I don’t usually post poems on this blog, but this poem was previously published in an online journal that unfortunately doesn’t exist any longer.

OFFICIAL BLOG RENEWAL POST002-1015
In 2004 the death of my beloved child prompted me to look deeply at my life and how I could live truer to my self from the point of Adam’s death onward. What meant the most to me beyond my own and my family’s health and well-being was to be the writer [...]

OFFICIAL BLOG RENEWAL POST001-1014
Each success, no matter how small, in practice of what I love is a lightning strike against the dark. And I have been in dark, metaphorically dark and literally extinguished places. I’ve been around fires a blazin’ too and they can be happy places!
Ah ha, yes. Well.
I am a poet/mother/wife living with bipolar disease. [...]

I am sleepless considering songs I want to learn on the guitar.
Currently I am learning several from Sticky Fingers: “Wild Horses,” “Moonlight Mile,” “Dead Flowers” and “Sister Morphine” and a couple other Stones tunes… some Bob Dylan: “One More Cup of Coffee -Valley Below” and “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door.” There will be more Dylan sought, [...]

I am nocturnal.
I worked all night and much of the morning on Orphans of Dark and Rain and Eating the Heart First manuscripts–tuning, cutting, and tweaking whatever needed tweaks. I took a break to cook breakfast for my husband before he left for work. Yes, he has to work today–Mother’s Day, a Sunday…but maybe only [...]

My father was an avid fisherman and owned a boat business for many years. I remember him putting two baited hooks on his fishing line at once to increase his chances at catching fish. So, I am working on two poetry manuscripts.
He’s no longer with us but is always inspiring me.
I went back to my unpublished [...]
